NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Medical Oncology

Saikat is an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Medical Oncology (Platform Science and Bioinformatics) at the Hull York Medical School. He obtained his MBBS degree from Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, Kolkata, India and an MD in Transfusion Medicine from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh, India. Saikat worked subsequently as an Attending Consultant in India and as Bone Marrow Transplant fellow at University Hospital Southampton, UK, where he gained experience working in immunohaematology and transfusion medicine, cellular therapy research trials. Saikat’s interests include transfusion related immunomodulation and cancer recurrence, immuno-oncology, biomarker development for early cancer detection and early phase clinical trials.
